This week’s big headline is the Prime Minister DSAI’s promise to ‘rebalance the federal representation’ by having more seats for Sabah and Sarawak before the next general election in about 3 years. Bold promises aside, a lot rests on the Sabah state election next weekend.
In other areas, Sarawak General Hospital is boldly leading the use of robotics in surgeries. This is good not just for Sarawakians but also medical tourists.
It’s never a small matter when capitals relocate. This week’s Sidenote examines Mongolia’s decision to rebuild its capital to an older location, which is fascinating especially in the context of our neighbour Nusantara, the new capital of Indonesia that is currently still being built.
This week’s infographic looks like one of our favourite drinks: coffee. Copious amounts have been consumed in the production of The Sarawakian of course, among other things. In A String of Thought, I mull over the boldness of entrepreneurs in overcoming the challenges that running a business requires - just like how we as Sarawakians have to do in building our region.
