Tourism is one of the critical sectors of the Sarawak economy. The shortage of hotel capacity has to be dealt with sooner rather than later. Hence this week’s headline: not only the private sector should be running hotels, there’s plenty of room for growth.
The scandal of the week is Bloomberg’s exposé on MACC Chief Tan Sri Azam Baki, which ties in nicely with the latest release of Transparency International report on Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).
